With bullet, blade, spear, shield, and all the wit you can muster, you must defeat Suffering and save reality. But what is more, the blame for the fate of physical othercide would be theirs. ![]() So much potential that's regrettably not well utilised. Othercide is a tactical RPG cast in black, white, and red where you control an army of Daughters, echoes of the greatest warrior to ever live, against the forces of the Suffering Other. Othercide will be released on July 28th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The presentation and atmosphere on offer are fantastic, but Othercide's gameplay sadly cannot match. Ideally, you should’ve only taken minimal damage during the Nucleus encounter so you’re still in. The Daughters are an army that carry traits of the greatest warrior to live and each will get their own personality as battles occur, but sacrifices may have to be made where a Daughter is lost for the bigger picture. The Suffering will be your ultimate test in Othercide, so you better make sure you’re prepared. Three abilities are instant, Ordeal, Distress, and Hardship. While it won't get any new abilities after the phase transition, it doesn't really need any because of how killer the ones it starts with are. However, there is hope: each failed run opens up new game-changing abilities, options and opportunities for the next attempt. Starting with double the HP of the Nucleus, the Suffering has a massive 70,000 HP and five abilities. Healing Daughters requires the sacrifice of another, and your forces cannot withstand the onslaught of Suffering forever. This can be used in many ways, from interrupting an enemy attack before it even occurs, to unleashing a devastating series of combos. The enemy design in Othercide is full of twisted, fleshy and misshapen creatures that wouldn’t look out of place in Bloodborne or any Lovecraftian tale. Rather than simply controlling where and what your units do, you will also manipulate when things happen. Othercide is a horror-themed turn-based strategy game where the lore and game mechanics are tightly intertwined to deliver a twisted, dark and challenging ex. In Othercide, the unique Dynamic Timeline System is at the core of every battle. ![]()
